We offer a specialised koi buying trip to the Niigata region of Japan. Our buying trips have a personalised feel and we try to cater to your needs as best we can. Japan is an interesting country and we hear a lot of stories of people not enjoying their trip and promising they will never return. You are going with the wrong company!

We do not subsidise the price of our trips. If you would like us to provide you with a subsidised trip please remember the first fish you buy will be much more expensive than it should be!

We buy mainly from the Niigata region. It is the area we know best and there is the greatest selection of koi and breeders. You can visit more than 12 breeders in one day and you simply move to the next farm if you can’t find the fish you are looking for.

Once you have arrived in the Niigata region all of the farms are within a short drive of your hotel. You stay in the same hotel every night and there are no arduous train journeys between farms.

Our trips are usually a 7 day trip but this can be shortened or extended to your requirements. The 7 day trip gives you a full 5 days of seeing and buying koi.

The flights we offer are direct to Tokyo Narita. You will be met at Tokyo Narita by one of our representatives and we will escort you on the Bullet Train to Niigata Prefecture.

The hotel we use is a new, western style business hotel and all rooms are en-suite. It has some western TV channels and a free high speed internet service.

Each day we drive from our hotel to the koi area where we can visit many farms in a day. We visit breeders such as Sakai Matsunosuke, Kazuto Igarashi, Yagengi, Maruju Tanaka, Aoki, Kase, Hirasawa, Miyatora, Marusaka, Dainichi, Marudoh, Seijuro, Seki Igarashi, Hosokai, and Oofuchi to name but a few. All of the prices are negotiated by our English speaking Japanese staff. They live among the breeders all year round and have built an excellent relationship and are working to get the best prices on your behalf.

We are able to offer direct flights to Japan at excellent prices, subject to availability. Please contact us for prices from mainland Europe and the USA.

We travel by Shinkansen (Bullet Train) to the mountains of Niigata Prefecture. The hotel is reasonably priced per night for a single en-suite room. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all reasonably priced.

Generally we will only allow one or two companies per week to give you a more comfortable buying experience.
