PACKING & SHIPPING

Professional packing and shipping are an essential part of the process of supplying you with healthy fish. We believe that this is the most important part of our operation because if the fish are packed and shipped efficiently and quickly they have a far greater chance of arriving in good condition at their destination. The breeders are exactly that - breeders of fish. They do not have extensive experience of packing and shipping fish for export and so our fish are supplied to us under the supervision of dedicated packers and shippers. All fish are inspected to the best of their ability before they are shipped.

Export fish are brought to the NNBC facility an hour before they are due to be shipped ready packed by the breeder. They are inspected by our team of shippers. This minimises any risk of cross contamination between fish from different breeders before they reach your quarantine systems but still allows them to control the shipping process. They will refuse to accept badly packed fish onto the shipment.

The temperature of the packing water helps to reduce the stress on the fish for the journey and they are transported to the airport in a temperature controlled lorry. Here they are loaded into the temperature controlled cargo hold for their journey.

If you have ever travelled to Japan or on any other long haul flight you will be aware how you feel after this journey. The fish have undergone the same journey and should be treated accordingly.

When fish arrive at the destination they must be quarantined and isolated according to standard industry practice.

We are able to ship to many International Airports, please contact us for details.
